Membership

What It Means to Be a Member

Membership in the Little Garden Club of Rye is both rewarding and hands-on. As a member, you will:

  • Grow your skills in gardening, floral design, photography, and conservation

  • Contribute to meaningful civic projects, including planting and maintaining public gardens

  • Explore your creativity through floral arrangements and seasonal displays

  • Share ideas and collaborate on community initiatives, plant selections, and fundraising efforts

  • Build lasting friendships within a welcoming, talented, and passionate group
     

Member Involvement

Active participation is at the heart of our club. Members are encouraged to:

  • Attend meetings and maintain annual dues

  • Participate in flower shows as interest and experience grow

  • Propagate plants for the annual Zone Plant Exchange

  • Support fundraising efforts, including holiday events, workshops, and sales

  • Help care for our civic planting sites, including:

    • Rye Post Office

    • Train Station

    • Rockridge Triangle

    • Library Gazebo

    • The Knapp House

    • Rye Nature Center

  • Join seasonal cleanups and community planting projects
     

Provisional Membership

All new members begin as provisional members for at least one year. During this time, members are expected to:

  • Attend meetings regularly

  • Participate in club activities, including field trips and workshops

  • Serve on committees and contribute to civic projects and fundraisers

Provisional members are not yet eligible to vote, chair committees, or hold office. At the end of the provisional period, members may be invited into full membership based on their participation and engagement.
